La Vaca 29th of Sept 1835
Mr. S. F. Austin Sir
Major Perkins leaves to day for your village. We are quiet at this moment. Genl. Cos by this time should most posilively be in Goliad on his way for Bexar on day before yeslerday left 4 ps. of cannon and 10 [illegible] also for Bexar on yesterday [illegible] information that five hundred infantry for Bexar had left Saltillo 22 days ago from undoubted information the Genl Cos is taking active and vigilent measures lo execute the orders of the govt. Your friend & Humb. St. P. Dimitt P. S. Sr. Alvares of [illegible] action on the 25th of lasl month and was victorious, information says that Zacatecas has again taking up arms again.

the taking of Gcnl Cos is of all importance, if for no other reasons but simply those first lo counteract the movement and views of the Govt. and more particularly the views of St Anna, for he cannot send another Genl in whom he has Lhe same conficlnece.
