Of the Committee of Safely for the Jurisdiction of Columbia, September 22, 1835.

Resolved, That we augment the delegates lo meet in consultation at the Lown of Washington on the 15th day of October next to the number of seven in accordance with. the plan recommended by the Department of Nacogdoches. Resolved, That the following persons be appointed to preside at the elections to be holden on the 5th day of October next, for delegates to meet in consultation as expressed in the above resolu lion: At Velasco Wade H. Binum, At Brazoria John A. Wharton, At Columbia W. D. C. Hall, At Chocolate Bayou Henry Smith, At Cany Creek Bayou Robt. H. Williams Resolved, That John A. Wharton and Wm. T. Austin be associated with persons appointed by the last meeting to receive subscriptions to defray the expences of printing, &c. Resolved, That we recommend the raising of four Volunteer Co,npanies in this Jurisdiction, one at Columbia, one at Velasco, one al Brazoria and one on the east side of the Brazos above Bailey's prairie and that they be organized without delay, and that they be armed and equipped immediately and hold themselves in readiness as minute men. Resolved, That inasmuch as we have good reason to apprehend that efforts will be made to capture, the members of the convention by the military, therefore recommend that each member elected be armed and equipped for baltle, and that each municipality furnish twenty five volunteers to rendezvous at Washington on the 15th of October next, then and there to be subject to the orders of the convention. Resolved, That Wade H. Bynum be appointed lo raise volunteers in compliance with the third resolution at Velasco, John A. Wharton al Brazoria, W. D. C. Hall at Columbia, and Henry Smith on the cast side of the Braz.as.
