Principle has at last triumphed over prejudice, cowardice and selfishness. The tories ·are routed, horse and fool. The unqualified submission men are ashamed lo hold up their heads. You will he agreeably surprised lo hear that the whole upper country has come oul almost unanimously for a convention. Nacogdoches and the whole East have come out for it. I have just heard similar accounts from Matagorda. We are lo have a great meeting here on the 12th on the subject, when 1 think it will he carried hy an overwhelming majority.
