[Angel Navarro, Bexar, to Domingo de Ugartcchea, Bexar, September ] 3, 1835, giving reasons why he is unwilling to turn ,, ~ over the house of gefe lo General Cos.] ' (619) [ SAN FELIPE MEETING J In pursuance of previous public notice, a large and highly respectable meeting of the citizens of the Jurisidction of Austin, convened at Johnson & Winburn's Tavern, in San Felipe, on the 12th Inst., when Col. Stephen F. Austin was elected Chairman, and Patrick C. Jack appointed Secretary. The chairman then explained the object of the meeting, and read several official communications from Col. Domingo de Ugartechea, and from Col. Martin Perfecto de Cos. He then al large expressed his views of the Political stale of the Republic of Mexico, of the present situation of Texas, and of the course which its ci ti:lens should pursue under the pressing immergencies of the times, and concluded by earnestly urging the absolute necessity of a Consultation of all Texas, by means of delr.gates elected by the people. After which Capt. Randal Jaones introduced the following resolutions, which upon motion of Capt. Wyly Marlin, were read separately, and upon being submilled to the meeting, were unanimously adopted. Resolved, 2st That we will support the conslit.ulion of till' Mexican Republic of J 824, lo which we have solemnly obli1!ali'd ourselves.
