Commandancv General Inspection of :the Eastern Internal States

l have received your estimable communication of the 29th Ult. in which you are pleased to inform me of the good feclings and obedience of a majority of those inhabitants to the Supreme Govt. I am satisfied of this fact and have previously manifested this lo that chieftancy; having the pleasure of rcceh~ng new proofs of this belief which I have formed. Nothing is now more necessary and honorable to all the Authorities of Texas than lo act with an entire suhjeclion lo the general Laws of the Republic and to be obedient to· the Supreme Govt and that you may give a clear proof of this; it is necessary thal you proceed without loss of time to the apprehension of Don Lorenza Zavala who has arrived at Columbia, and send him to Bexar; in order that he may be brought thence to this Post and ? to Mexico to report upon the commission which he has held in France I expect that you wiJI do this as I have formed the highest idea of your judgement and rigor in the fulfilment of your obligation.
