Sir I have made my tour through the Indian Villages and make this my report. The Shawnees were all in a drunken frollick which I learned before reaching them and did nol call on them, I then went lo Big Mushes village where J found him and all of his people drinking and dancing wailed on them one clay lo get sober hut they did not and J then proceclcd to Bowls village whid1 I found in good disposition he called his War chiefs and counc1·lors togcalhcr and after a conscl with them agreed to go himself and all his men on the Proposed campaign, and immediately despatched his couriers to all the Cherokees and Shawnees lo meet at his house in four clays from today in order lo march with me, it is necessary to state to you the information I received today whit·h has caused me to change my former inlenclccl rout and a~k your
