Bexar, August 1, 1835. Yesterday I received the enclosed communicalions addressed lo me from San Felipe by Captain Don Antonio Tenorio. You will see by them that Don Lorenzo Zavala, having disembarked al Brazoria, is now in Columbia intending lo revolt. To prevent lhis and lo fulfill your orders to secure the person of this individual and bring him lo this town, where he must re-embark, 1 have delivered a communication lo lhe council and Political Chief of the Brazos, laking advanlage of lhe good disposilions in which they now are, and of their anxiety that no troops he introduced inlo the colony.** * 1 have not been able lo send the troop of horses that the said Tenorio asked for in his communication. ln view of all this, I hcgg of you lo intercsl yourself in order that 1 may be helped wilh money for lhe want of which I have been unahle lo aid Captain Tenorio, althoughl ] pily the slate of need and scarcity in which he is.
