I hav,~ for some Lime passed, answered no official communi- cation from Your Lordship, for the reason thal I have received information that my correspondence has been intercepted on the Brazos; the fact of having received no answer lo my letters confirms thal information. I have, therefore, lhoughl it lo be more advisable to remain silent, under the aclual delicale circumstances. However, ] avail myself of this occasion lo assure you that a majority of the inhabilanls of this frontier have refused lo take part in the rc\'olulion and have agreed lo remain quiel, nolwilhstanding the inducements tendered them by some citizens of Bexar, and those of San _Felipe, who have committed alrecilies at Anahuac. In the vicinity of the Colorado, they have killed an express rider; hut the authorities are delermined the guilly, lhat those who are not compromised against the Supreme Government he nol brought lo accounl.
