As Agent for the Empresarios Stephen F. Austin and Samuel M. Williams I would respcctfully represent to your Honor that I find it impracticable to proceed in the settlement of that part of the Colony which lies above the San Antonio road g<~nerally known as the "Upper Colony" (and which has been fur some time claimed by S.C. Roberson in the name of the Nashville Company, but which has since heen returned to the Ernpresarios Austin and Williams by dc~crce. of the l·I. Congress of 18th of May last past) until! I shall accrtain what has been done by the Commissioner William Steel. I therefore request your Honor that you issue your order to the said Commissio,wr William Steel that he make an immediate return to your Honor of all that he has done in his official character in said C~lony.
