The commillees of Columbia San Felipe and Mina address you the for purpose of ascertianing whether it is your intention to discharge lhc duties incumbent upon the office to which you were elected. They arc aware that the political chief has addressed yo11 an official not requesting you to discharge the duties of this office; they are aware that you have assumed herlofore lo act as Political Chief without being requested by him so to do, and thal you now refuse to act. They hope that you have thought bellcr of this matter and that you are now disposed to act, at all events they require you to give them an answer in writing, your refusal lo do so will be construed by the Committee as a determination to persist in your previous conclusion.
