Precinict of Lavaca July the 4 1835 Honorable-Sir In Compliance with a request made by the committee of a convention assembled in this precinct r beg leave lo present to Yor Honor the following Letter. The people of this Section of Country appredhenive evils from the numerious reports that are in circulation respecting the present political Situation of our Country. Assembled for the purpose of consulting on the best expedients to preserve order and good demeanor amongst the people. And having before them the proceedings of the meeting held for a Simular purpose in the town of Collumbia have a depend on the resolutions as pass at that meeting with some few exceptions. The conduct of those persons at Anahqae they are inlirely unacquainted with yet permit me Sir to assure that the people here would protest against the conduct of any Let of individual, who wishes to involve t;hem in a eibal-war. But on the contrary they are disposed live Subject to the laws and constitution of there adopted country when administered agreiable to there spirit and design. In conclusion I will say that people of this country are determine lo adhere Ministry lo the laws and constitution of there country-
