The Ayuntamiento have taken that part of the Political Chief's official letter into consideration relative to directing 25 me11 well armed and equipped from this Jurisdiction to rendezvous at the town of Eastroy on the 10th day of August next for the purpose of proceeding against the hostile Indians; as also three persons be appointed for the purpose of raising subscriplion to purchase arms and ammunition for the common defence of the country, have thought it expedient to pass the following resolutions viz.- first Resolved that subscriptions be opened on the day and at the place of the choice of Company officers, by the individual, who presided at said Erection.- Secondly, Resolved, That the Captains Elected shall im- mediately after the result of the votes are declared, proceed to open a list of enrolment for volunteers to rendezvous at Bastrop on the 10th day of August next to proceed against the hostile Indians, said volunteers will assemble at the town of Columbia on Saturday the 1st of August next to make choice of a Subordinate Officer to command them, during the Campaign said officer will be situated from among their own number said volunteers will be provided with ammunition at Columbia.- Thirdly, Resolved, That the members of this Ayuntamiento meet at the town of Columbia on Monday the 20th next, and make due returns of result of the before mentioned Elections & subscriptions and also that each Captain Elected shall meet the Ayuntamiento at the last mentioned time and place and make return of the list of Volunteers together with a correct list of all persons living within their respective Company Districts liable to do military duty.-
