The two men who carry this letter belong lo the Militia, as well as those who escort Senor Ahumada. They can be kcpt by the Governor and attached to the party of 25 men who, I expect, have already reached the capital of the Stale. The Political Chief of Nacogdoches, - To the Political Chief of Bexar. I am informed hy a Waco chief who arrived here in company with several Quichos, that the Tahayases and lower Comanches, seduced by the advices of an American who has a large share of ammunition at the Tahueyese Village, where he is protected by a force ot twenty or twenty five men of his nation, arc about to enter in campaign against Bexar and La Bahia. Considering the news as positive, I communicate it to Your Lordship for your information. I have induced that Indian lo endeavor to tliscarde those tribes from following the advises of the forei~ner. He told me he hoped to succecle with the Tacos and Tahuases, who are disposed lo remain friendly, not, however, with the Comanches and Tahuayases, who consider that American as a wisard. I tried to decide him to go with some men of this rare lo arrest the American, but he is so affraid of him, that the onlv throtwht of • l"" such an attempt caused him to shudder.
