[UGARTECHEA lo POLITICAL CHIEFJ
The Military Commander of Cochuila & Texas- To the
Political Chief of Texas
. !
I regret deeply to have to come to the extremity of making use of force, to compel the Civic i\·Iilitia lo return to their home; however, as I have already said to Your Lordship in my last note, duty obliges me lo obey the positive orders of the Commanding General. The troops are marching at this very moment; I cannot delay any longer. One man has been left behind to carry the order that your Lordship may still issue for recalling the Militia, in which case, my troops shall also return; otherwise, they shall continue until they have executed the orders of the Commanding General who is alone answerable for the consequences. I reiterate lo Your Lordship the assurance of my most distinguished consideration and respect. God and Liberly,-Bexar, l\'lay 17th, 1835-1 o'clock A.M. Domingo de Ugartechea
