Present my respect to Mr. Pease, Williamson, Col. Chambers &c. Tell Chambers to send me his granl. I will make the survey fur it while l am up on Red River. The Amnesty law was published on the 3d instant, and I shaU be at fuU liberty to leave here so soon as lhe necessary forms are completed lo cancel my bail bonds elc- D. Victor Blanco intends Lo leave here about the 26 instant and I shall wait for him if l do not conclude to go by water, for I am at present undetermined, tho think iL probable shall go by land in which event expect to reach Monclova about the 20 June- presume you will have left there for home long before that time- It is my wish and intention lo Lake wing in the spring-by that time I can close all my affairs I hope, and be able lo spend a year or two in a ramble- I have a conslitu tional excuse or rather I am [ con I slitutionally impeded by having a causa pendiente from holding the seal in the legislature to which I have been elected, so that there will be no <lifficully on that account The 400 leagues law has totally distroycd the moral standing of that legislature ,,~th all parlic:s-a11d Lhe Commandant
