our forces were 300 strong but daily Increasing we flatter ourselves that they are by this time about 600. But again we are creditably Informed that two ~lexican Regiments are on their march for San Antonio. As such it is Important for us to Subdue the first 500 or 600 al Bexar before reinforced Col. Moore in Every Move calls for more men Powder & Lead. This Council has taken such steps as will Provide the Powder & Lead soon. But as much is wanting advise all Persons to Bring as much as they can with them in service and for the Information of those at a .distance we will say we have no scarcity of corn corn mills, or Beef. The Cannons are sent for lo Matagorda and Harisburg and by the 15th we hope to be ahle lo face them in the open field Cannon to Cannon Col. Austin is in the field in Person and wrote on the 8th Inst. Thus. I dont know when I shall be Back we want the Cannon we want Powder and Lead- Lead-We want Lead every man au~hl to be up and a doing what he can. Felow Citizens, the People are nearly all left home now and are in the field and Indeed it Requires more Exertion to keep men here to attend to the Civil department than to get men in the field. We confidently Believe as soon as you have time to reach here you will come on.
We are Very Respectfully R.R. Royall Isaac Batterson
