My Dear Sir:-It affords me great pleasure to announce lo you that your fellow citizens of the Jurisdiction of Columbia have elected you to represent them in the consultation of the 16th of October. · The high opinion I entertain of your integrity and ability satisfies me that you will prove yourself every way worthy of the great confidence reposed in you. To the high mark of distinction which your fellow citizens have paid you, 1 am prompted to add my individual considerations, and at the same time to assure you that no result could afford me more pleasure.
