My Dear General Houston

I this moment drop you a few lines I am well and hope you are my dear friend I cant express to you my anxity lo be with you in the presanl struggle in your country moare particular since I see the accounts of this morning in the papers which arived here in the monlasuma from Vera Cruz in thirteen clays that there is an appropiration of one million of money by the Bishop of Mexico and the bishop of Pueblo and the most energetic measures had bin taken that five hundred commissions had bin taken for privateers al Vera Cruz that a division of two thousand infantry had bin ordered to Matamoras and three hundred cavalry under the command Montezuma and had march lo Texas and that Sant Tiana would head them in person now my deer ould friend I want you to answer my letter with out delay to Fayettville Tennessee for I shall start home this evening and I want instructions from you how to proceed if you think you will need men I will bring a company with me well armd and acquipted I have bought 100 first rate Rifles which I have shiped to Natchitoches and if I can get a letter from you when I gel home I can bring what men you may instruct and I will aclhear to your instructions whatever they may be Right fully to me so I can explain lo the people I will be in Texas by the last of Dec. & now my ould friend you would like to see two or three hundred Tennessee boys there well acquipt therefore answer me without delay as I shall be at a loss what corse to pursue till I hear from you.
