Department of Stale, Washington November 10, 1835 The undersigned, Secretary of State of the United States, has the honor to acknowledge the receipt of the note of l\lr. Castillo, Charge d'Affaires of the United .Mexican Stales, dated the 29th of October, and to acquaint him that, in conformity with the Presiden l's views relating to the existing slate of affairs in Texas, which the undersigned had the honor lo impart at large to ~Ir. Castillo in an interview at this office, on the 4th instant, the district altorney of the United States al New York, as well as the district attorney at New Orleans, has been inslruclccl lo prosecute any persons within the jurisdiction of his district, who have allernptecl or who may attempt to compromit the neutrality of this Government, by proceedings in violation of those laws of the United States, which have Leen enacted for the purpose of
