The committee of vigilence and Safety of San Augustine, do with great pleasure report lo the perminent council-this commillee having full confidence in the moral worth and integrity of those Gentlemen, do most heartily concur with the resolution of the pi:rminenl commillee, in confcring the high trust upon these Gentlemen at the same lime, this committee will report to the prominanl committee that the Spirit of defending the country is laking deep root in this part of Texas; and also that the first company of volunteers from New Orleans, by way of Natchitoches arrived in this place last evening, they will march from this place imediately on the arrival of their arms, which will arrive here abou l twelve O'clock tomorrow: We will also inform you that the men are all in high spirits, and anxious to reach the head quarters of the army of Texas; also we will inform your body that report says, that many volunteers may be looked for soon, in this place, from the United States, on their way to the army of Texas.
