To the Honorable the Committee, to whom was referred the Communications from the Committee of New Orleans.
Gentlemen
Having been appointed by the New Orleans Committee, to carry into execution the resolution, adopted at the Public Meeting, held in that City, for the purpose of aiding and assisting in Your very Laudable struggle, for Liberty & the Constitution beg leave to submit the following statement To Wit. That the amount subscribed by the Citizens of New Orleans (previous to my leaving) was about seven Thousand Dollars. Three Thousand Five Hundred of which was expended by me in Arming Equiping &:c. One Hundred men, and furnishing Provisions, saddles Bridles, &c to Sixty F\ve of thal number, called the Volunteer Greys, who accompanied me to Brasoria. The Fifty men sent to Nacogdoches were furnished with Arms & Equipment only, trusting to the inhabitants of the Country through which they may pass for further necessary supplies. The Provision left in the hand of E. Andrews Esq at Brasoria subject to my Orders, are as follows. 78 Barrels Navy Bread (with the exception of some articles exchanged for others required by the Company) remain for the use of the Army to be forwarded as the Convention may deem proper- The Committee at New Orleans were daily rcce1v111g 2 Barrels Beans 2 Barrels Pork subscriptions which are probably augmented to Ten or Fifteen Thousand Dollars to be expended in fmther supplies c,f Arms Ammunition &c &c. There are also Volunt,~er Companies being formed for the service of this Country, and are Only wailing for communications from Your Convention to lender their immediate
