Head Quarters Camp Sivolo October 23, 1835 The Commander m chief annouces to the Army information of the most encouraging nature from the Interior-that the Cause of the Constitution and the Federal System is there, gaining new strength, daily-that, Genl. Alvarez a warm Federalist has lately gained two important Victories over the troops of the Dictator-Santa Anna and has been joined by two other Generals of distinction, Montenegro and Grozman-that the troops at Saltillo and San Louis which had been destined and were actually on the march for Texas, had been ordered back on account of troubled behind them- He further anounces that D. Juan Seguin-the Mexican who Came to Camp last night with his followers and left this morning has given the most flattering account of the good disposition of the Citizens generally in Bejar and its neighorhood-their friendship to the Cause we are defending and willingness lo serve us.-He has appointed Mr. Seguin a Captn. in the Army, Vesting him with authority lo raise a Company of ~lexican Volunteers to Cooperate with us.-They will be of essential service in many respects.- The Commander in chief deems it his duty lo anoucne also, a Vague rumor he has received that troops lo the number of 300 were on the march from Matamoras and other parts, destined for the garrison al the Nueces and the recapture of Lahahia-b..ui this rumor is by no means to be credited al there is no sufficient authority to support it- The troops from the Nacogdoches Department are Confidently expected lo join us, within a very few <lays-
