After addressing the committee we received an express by Mr. John Johnson forwarding resolutions of the committees of San Augustin and Nacogdoches which we are much gratified to receive and that you have been selected lo the command A cannon from Harrisburg will probably be here today Col Austin's wish is for you to send a suitable guard by this place and take the cannon to head quarters. With considerations of much regard we are

San Felipe 13th October 1835-

y ou wi'll please go with all possible dispatch on the Road to Columbia ·or in any other direction you may think best & contract for the services of four good Road Wagons, to repair immediately to Columbia for the Public stores in that Place under charge of Col NigtcL This shall be your authority to Contract or Press into service If necessary any thing essential to the forwarding of this important object. You \\~II also please observe to superintend and see the said Wagons safe to head quarters at Gonzalez or to whereever they may have been removed. You will by this conveyance receive One Hundred dollars to save for Expenses. You will from time to time write to this Council or head quarters of how you are progressing and Finally render on.all the Expences &c.
