Resolved, That the officers of the meeting be authorised forthwith lo open a lisl for volunteers lo enter in the aid of the Tcxians for defence of their rights. W. Bogart, J. H. Caldwell and W. Bryan. The resoli1lions were unanimously adopted; and lists immediately opened in the large room of Banks arcade for subscriptions and volunteers.

Mr John Johnson who bears these to you-has just arrived from Nacogdoches and San Agustin with a communication from the Committees of those places which we transcribe to you f San Augustin Resolutions, October 6, 1835] .Mr Johnson will be enabled to detail many particulars which we cannot put to paper and which are of a very encoura'g nature-particularly of the friendliness of the Cherokees etc- We have not heard from Matagorda or Harrisburg but have requested Gen) Houston to send a guard agreeable to you request lo take on the Cannon from Harrisburg etc- We are all in high spirits expecting to hear from you of Success- R.
