Your favor 20 ulto reached us about a week since, covering a Commission authorizing us to dispose of 300,000 acres of Land.-We have not as yet been able to succeed in making the negotiation.-Had it arrived here previous lo the news having reached us of the great panic that prevailed throughout the Country, the inhabitants all moving off & the various unfounded reports of Fannin being cut up and Houston retreating, we should have ere this made sale of it. We shall however continue our utmost exertions to effect the loan & the funds could be well appropriated in fitting out men-Considerable excitement exists in favor of Texas & a number of individuals have come forward offering to pledge their private fortunes lo raise money for the cause-On this subject Genl Green writes you fully- By the Schooner Flora we have forwarded you part of your order under date 21 ulto-The Yaugers and Pistols are not to be had here-We have consigned them to Messrs McKiny & Williams. Genl Green will write you why we have done so-The Brig Hope is advertised for your place & we shall send the Balance of the order by her- By the advice of Genl. Green we made no shipment lo Nachitoches-
