Dr. Levy has just arrived since I commenced writing from Galveston brings intelligence of the arrival of the Brutus Captain Hurd and Independence Captain Hawkins in the Bay. The Brutus wilJ proceed to New Orleans to be fited out. The Invincible will remain in the Bay and assist in fortifying or subject to the Qrders of the Government. The Invincible Capt Brown lefl Matagorda a few days ago for a cruse to the west. He gave further information that a vessel arrived in Copano from New Orleans with eighty or ninety volunteers they were landed under a belief that it was in the possession of Americans but immediately surrounded and taken prisoner &c. There are some other circumstances [illegible) is in the Bay from VaJasco with the public stores &c. We will have them open as soon as possable and send them on &c.
