I had the honor of receiving today your communication, dated 3rd of April 1836 in which was enclosed a proclamation for the suppression of the introduction "of Africans or negroes into the Republic, excepting from the United States of America." In compliance with your request, I shall have the proclamation immediately carried to Nacogdoches, and have it published there or at Natchitoches as instructed.
