[2587] [HOUSTON ORDERS]

Head Quarters Camp West of Brazos 5th April 1836

Copy Army Orders

Major John Ingram will notify all men to repair to Camp and enrol themselves for duty. If the men of Texas will join the Army, the Enemy will be beaten back at once, and the country restored to peace. All who abandon the cause of Texas at this time will forfeit their lands by order of the government, nor will they ever be allowed the rights of Citizens. Their lands will be given to those who will defend the country. Let men dismiss their fears and do their duty as men and citizens. I don't intend to leave the Brazos.
