To Col. Morgan Sir

I am informed that all the arms Amunitions and public property have been sent to Galveston. Is learned also some cannon from Brazoria-for the army you will send the cannon up immediately and forty or fifty Barralls of flour And such quanty of sugar & coffee as you can obtain. It is intended to send tho::;c provisions to the army as they are in great need of those articles. You will send them up by the Steam Boat-as soon as po&;ible. Gen'l Samuel Hous- ton, Commander in Chief of the Army of Texas. Your petitioners represent to you that Private A. Scales, under sentence of death, is very penitent, and has made a promise of a faithful performance of his duty as a soldier in the future for his term of service could he be pardoned for his present offence; and wishes his officers to intercede for him, and your petitioners verily believe him sincere, and will be punctual in the performance of his duty. Your petitioners would therefore most earnestly pray you to reprieve and pardon the condemned.
