Dear Sir this Municipality has turn outoverone third their will 70 Volunteers leave tomorrow for Head Quarters the Citizens of this place is looking with a great deal of anxiety for something official from the army the latest inteligence was the 18th last month Capt Chissum from Bevil Settlement is here with 30 Volunteers there is generally a goodly turn out in this section except Turnshaw (Shelby) - I would be glad if you would give me something to do as I do not wish to undergo the fatigues that I should in the army- probably I could be of some service to you at Head Quarters or any thing here in this place and I ask no reward Yours Respectfully Stephen W.
