In Testimony whereof the members of the Executive Government of Texas, of the one part, and the Contractors aforesaid, have hereunto set their hands and affixed their private seals this first day of April 1836 in the Town of Harrisburg and Republic of Texas David G. Burnet SS President of the Republic of Texas Lorenzo De Zavala L.S Vice President of the Republic of Texas Bailey Hardiman L.S Act. Secty of State Baily Hardiman LS Secy of Treasury David Thomas SS Attorney General Robert Triplet SS W. F. Gray SS The Lenders or Contractors aforesaid, of both Loans, in proportion to their Original subscription, shall have the privilege of paying up the remainder of the Loan, to wit, one hundred and Eighty thousand dollars or any part thereof, on the terms specified in the Original Contract and of this Compromise after sixty days notice of this Modification; And shall have the option to take lands on the same terms provided for the payment of the loans already received by this contract; but without the premium; on the principle and interest on the same, as stipulated in the Original Contract. The land if taken to be at fifty cents per acre, and held on the terms compormised for in this Contract, except the right to buy of individuals
