You know the necessity of keeping up his credit, as it is directly connected with that of our country. They have numerous caUs here, and without immediate aid, you wiU infer the consequences.

By this conveyance I send you an accompaning package from New Orleans (for your information) pr Schooner Wm A Turner, Capt O Flaherty by which I recd a consignment the Invoice of which I send you together with a copy of Letter from l\lr Bryan our Agent at New Orleans and an important post Script I am at great loss lo know whether lo forward the Sehr. and cargo to Copino or not as I am not officially advised of the movements of late of the Troops and consequently fear by sending them so far west there might be some Risque of there falling inlo the Enemys hands or of damage or of want of immediate altenlion- Of aU these things it is important that I should be immediately informed and also our Agent Mr. Bryan the Cargo of the Caroline has been safely stored at Cox's point on the La Bacca subject to the Order of R R Royall army Capt or Commanding Officer of the Texas Army or Legally authorised agent of the Govt. of Texas and storage paid by a Draft drawn on me by super cargo.-Redfield and the articles are waiting Lhe orders of the Govt. The Cargo of the Wm A Turner will however be discharged here except one Load of the Lighter (say 100 Barrels) will be sent to Dimitts on the Labaca Together wilh upwards of 20 Troops all aboard of the Wm. A.
