And by all and singular the foregoing specifications & charges rendering yourself loo base and too corrupl to hold a seat in the Council, or the Commission of Judge Advocate General of all the armies of Texas with the rank and pay of a Colonel in the Line. You arc farther notified that the foregoing will be pied as above indicated for your dismissal from holding a seal in the Genl. Council And will then be submitted to the tribunal of a Court Martial and until you are honorably acquitted, You will consider yourself as suspended from the exercise of your functions as an Officer under this Government.

Dear General,
The cold plaque which is nearly as epidemical now as in the fatal spring of 1816 has confined myself and son to our beds for more than 10 days. We are something better but still quite sick. The stages & steamboats have stopped running for the last month. The roads arc impassable & the rivers a solid bed of ice. I have just heard from Louisville & waggons are crossing on the ice. When we shall gel to Washington it is impossible to say but as soon as it can be effected. We have Ly letter started some 20 or 30 of able senators & representatives to work in convencing the government of the justice of our cause. I have also written & published a pamphlet under the
