Long so unfortunately lost his life l I take Lhe liberty lo introduce lo your Nolice, Doctor Benjamin Austin, who was. for sometime in the Naval Service of the U. States as an adjutant Surgeon which service he left, honourably

Council Hall San Felipe de Austin Feb 15, 1836 The advisory Committee to the Executive, appointed by the General Council to act in that capacity in the absence of a quorum of the council, are of opinion that the advices from the Interior are nol of so certain and definite a character, as to require a retrogade movement on the part of Col Fannin, or any of Lhc troops designed for Matamoros, more especially when the forces at Bejar have considerably increased, and the Militia of Texas are now called upon lo move upon the Western frontier, and where all volunteers are now directed, which together, we believe will be amply sufficient, to sustain the posts of Bejar and Goliad independent of the forces first designed for lVJalamoras expedition, and to meel any forces of the enemy, which may come from the upper crossing of the Rio Grande.
