Sir: We have been appointed by the General Council to conduct the prosecution against the late Governor, Henry Smith, before the next convention. Among other mallcrs of testimony Lo support the charges against him is a letter wrillen to yourself aboul the 17th of January last, of which a copy has been received al this place. We have to request that you forward said original lellcr Lo us al Washington. We lrusl that you will nol fail in doing so, as in that case it will become necessary lo summon yourself lo allend.
