Council Hall San Felipe de Austin Feb 11th 1836 The advisory Committee lo the Executive appointed to act in that capacity in the absence of a quorum, have learned with much pleasure, through the communication of Col Johnson, of the capture of Capt Rodriguez and his party consisting of 19 privates and officers, together with a quantity of Horses and arms, by a party of 25 americans under col Grant, and that this brilliant little affair has opened a communication with the interior, and cul off the last of our enemies, this side of the Rio Grande. The Committee advise that the Aeling Governor lender the thanks of this Government to Cols Johnson, Grant and the brave volunteers under their command, for their brave and heroic conduct, and perseverance in the cause of their country, and also that the acting Governor direct Col Johnson to release Capt Rodriguez and his officers on their parol not to fight against Texas during the present war and to remain in Texas 3 months, unless sooner permitted to leave, by the Government, and that the privates be released on their parol not lo fight against Texas during the present war, with permission lo go where they please-
