To all lo whom this document may come:- Know ye, that 1, David a Hoffman, only acting alcalde, for the Municipality of Nacogdoches, Stale of Coahuila and Texas, do hereby certify, that the above mentioned Commillee of Vigilence and Safely, of Nacogdoches, is a regular organized body, acting as a Committee of Vigilence and Safely, for the purpose of forwarding the cause of Texas, against her oppressor, Santa Anna- and that Colonel Haden Edwards, has by said Committee, to my knowledge, received, the appointment mentioned in the above resolu lion. Haden Edwards, is about lo leave this place for the United Stales of the North, on a mission in furtherance of the cause of our adopted country. Therefore, be it Resolved, That we cannot permit this opporhmity to pass without expressing our entire confidence in the integrity and zeal of Colonel Edwards, and our wishes for his success in the cause of our oppressed country.
