By the arrival of the John M Brandel from Metamoras, I have the honour to communicate the following Important information, Gen Santa Anna is al Saltillo with 7000 men, wailing provisions, which arc very scarce in his army, he was supposed to have arrived there on the 12th of January, he had given permission lo a House to import provisions free of duties, & a vessel was seen by the J M Brandal off the coast having the private signal of that House. His troops arc represented as badly armed & provided & without disipline, & that they cannot move without provisions. Santa Anna has issued a proclamation (which I have not seen) threatening extermination to all Texians who opposed him, & protection to those who submitted, & that he should treat as pirates all american vessels taken conveying Arms or provissions to Texas.
