Army of Operations ExcelJenl Senor:

As I assume that your Lordship is ready lo march, I am ordering you lo do the following: on the 12th of this month you will leave for San Antonio de Bejar with all the division under your command, making average daily marches so Lhal the lroops will be in good condition in case they have to fight. Your Lordship will add to that division Lhe men of the garrison companies gathered at that villa, choosing those Lhal are betler armed and mounted. Your Lordship will try to take with you at least one month's rations for Lhe whole division, and a reserve of corn and flour which you shall have carried in ox-earls or in whatever manner is possible, as there are no food supplies in Bejar. In that town you will leave twenty-five lancers from the regiment of Dolores, well mounted, under an officer of trust, so that they will serve me as a convoy. On the 8th of this very month I leave for that place, and I shall try to be there on the 11th or 12th; this information will serve you as a guidance. Your Lordship will receive personally, from me, the instructions for your operations in Bejar, as I should catch up with you in transit. For God and Liberty. General Headquarters of Monclova. February 5, 1836. Antonio de Santa Ana. Senor General D. Joaquin Ramirez, Commander of the First Division of the Army of Operations.
