As it is wilh notorious licence that certain individuals express themselves and circulale reports concerning the condition and movements of the revolted colonies, as also others of known falsehood, misrepresenting the good order and tranquility which happily exists in the interior of the republic, I hereby provide and make known, that any person who may pursue such a course of conduct after the publication of these articles, shall, according to the circumstances of the case, be considered a suspicious person, or an enemy to the public peace, and treated as such. And that all may have due notice of the above, and none may plead ignorance, I hereby recommend that it be published by posting copies at the corners and public places, at the same time recommending its fulfillment lo all, as they arc responsible for the same lo proper authorities.
