This letter is lo propose to you to raise from One lo five Hundred men and bring them inlo the Country, if 1 can obtain the recognition of Government, and power to draw upon the same for the expenses necessarily to be incurred. My means have been exausled in bringing one vol. com- pany into the field and marching them on fool 500 miles to this place. I refer you lo Genl.
