Dear Gen'I.

They have contracled a loan there 8250,000 two hundred & fifly Thousand dollars, purchased the Ingham Culler, which will soon be here under Com'd. of Mjr. Hawkins. J. A. Wharton has arrived in the Liberty wilh 3 other vessels under convoy loaded with provisions munitions etc. of which he has informed you by mail. There is also troops on board. He has gone round to Copano. Hearing there was some confusion he was al a loss to know what lo do & called on me for orders saying he had no choice but was bound to obey your order previously given unless it was countermanded. He seemed al a great loss to know what disposition lo make of the provisions clothing etc. T have written him lo Copano and advised him in the best manner I could under all the circumstances, l hope everything will soon get in a proper channel. I write you this in very haste.
