I have receivd your despatches pr express and are truly aslonishd to find your body in such a disorganisd situation-Such Interuptions in The General Council of Texas have bad tendancies-they create distrust & alarm and at this critical period of our History are much to be lamented-I do hope however to hear of a reconciliation of matters,-Our Govt. appears lo be without a legitimate head, and unanimity of action is certainly necessary to answer the ends and to effect the objects contemplated by the consultalion,- 1 enclose you a copy of the proceedings of a meeting held in this place 24th ull. which will convey lo you some idea of the feeling of the Army on the subject. I also Enclose to you the Address of the Commandant of the post of Saltillio to his subalterns-Every Courier from the west seems to corroborate the previous statements in relation lo the preparation of the Mexican for War J remain Yr ob st J C Nt'ill Lt Coln Come!
