You will immediately on the receipt of this repare to the Town of Nacogdoches, and exhibit your commission and these instructions to John Forbes and James Cameron Commissioners appointed and commissioned to treat with the Indians named & mentioned in their commissions & instructions, and inform them of the nature and object of your agency; and ask their co-operation, with you, and if neither of them are there or near that place, you will ask the aid and assistance of the good citizens of that place and the adjacent country, in concilcating and organizing the indians. You will aid the Said Commissioners, by your advice & council. You will conciliate & procure the aid of the Indians on the best terms possible, and your offers to them will extend to rations, ammunition and monthly pay, in conformity to the advice of the advisory Committee hereunto annexed, and you will report your proceedings Speedily to the Governor & Council, for further orders- Assure them of our friendly disposition & views of Texas towards them, and you will repell the idea of admitting any Indians
