I take the liberty of transmitting you enclosed my letter to the commissioners of Texas and their appended recommendation with which they have had the l(jndness to furnish me. You will learn by their dispatches, forwarded this day that I am directed to proceed to New York to purchase a steam vessel, and on my arrival to Texas, I shall be happy to have an opportunity of presenting myself to you and receiving your determination with regard to the matter contained in the enclosed letter.
