Sect. 2. Be it further Ordained and Decreed, That to raise, organise, arm, equip and command the ~ai~ division of volunteers, a general shall be appointed and com~1ss1o~ed, whose staff shall consist of one adjutant general, one brigade mspector, one brigade inspector, one brigade quarter master, one brigade commissary, one brigade pay master and two aids. Sect. 3. Be it further Ordained and Decreed, &c. That the said general be furnished by the governor with the requisite number of blank commissions for the several officers of said division. Sect. 4. Be it further Ordained and Decreed, &c. That six pieces of field artillery, four six pounders and two twelves, shall be purchased for said division completely mounted for the field with caissons and other necessary appendages. Sect. 5. Be it further Ordained and Decreed, &c. That the volunteers of the said division shall enjoy the same emoluments, benefits and privileges for their services and be subject to the same rules and regulations heretofore provided for volunteers. · Sect. 6. Be it Further Ordained and Decreed, &c. And it is hereby ordained and decreed that Thomas Jefferson Chambers be appointed and commissioned, and he is hereby appointed to raise, organise, arm, equip and take command of the said division; that the pecuniary aid of ten thousand dollars which he has offered for the purpose, be accepted and the public faith is hereby pledged for the same; and that he be authorised and he is hereby authorised to raise the balance which may be necessary to arm, equip, provision and transport the said division by pledging the public faith of Texas. And it is required that every exertion be made, in order that the said Army of Reserve may be able to take the field on or before the 15th day of May next.
