declined any further election of Officers, until we had the requisite number-if it is possible do not let me be ordered to move with the troops who are here waiting orders-there is no unanimity of feeling amone: them-their difficulties among themselves are more serious, than if they were fighting Mexicans-I have sent a letter to Col Austin, Genl. Houston-Mr Archer also to yourself-Please give me all the information relative to the country, &c &c- Will you see those gentlemen, if they are convenient to you, whom I have mentioned- Do you think of coming this way shortly. I as well as several of mv comoany would be delighted to see you-

Washington, 30th Deer 1835

Dear Colo.

On tomorrow by light I wish Capt Poe to set out for San Felipe, & Velasco. He will be with you on the first! You are advised!!! I wish you could send Wallace to me? Whal has become of the Indian Treaty business? Let that be done, and Houston will be at Copano instanter! I rely upon you; to aid me in serving the country. God speed you! Salute my friends-You know them-The moment that I return from the Treaty, I will be on the march. Write to me, and often. Houston. Col Barrett Say lo Judge Hanks that I will recommend him for Sutler to Copano, and on tomorrow-I will trust that he may be appointed-Business for tonight employs me- Tell him to rely upon me, as I have assured my friend Col. .Millard Houston. Wallace is important to me, as I hope to go on to the Indians, and wish him for the Secy to the Commissioners of the Treaty. P. S. When I Say "Houston will be on the march I mean; the army staff will be, al least a part of Houston-if last not least.
