Dear Colonel:
Colonel Wyatt, with two attachments of auxiliary volunteers, is on his way to the vicinity of Copano, for the purpose of protecting that point, so essential to the present posture of our affairs. I hope that you will afford him all the possible intelligence, and render to him all the necessary aid. . . .Colonel Wyatt will relieve Captain Allen, who will repair to New Orleans, and return by the first of March. Say to our friends that, by the rise of grass, we will be on the march.-
Sam Houston.
To Colonel James Powers.
