Dear Sir,
I take this method of cummunicating to you some of my views on public affairs. Our people met in a very disorganized manner, and, rather pr chance suceeded in taking San Antonia; and I think it reasonable to say it is time for Texas to be done with disorganized insubordinate undisciplined armies as that appears to have bean. It would appear necessary to organize a sufficient number of troops, to garrison and fortify the post at San Antonia and to push forward supplies for their support. The Contractor department I fear is very deficient; ample supplies for the support of the army should be laid in, in good time and forward to the proper places, and securely deposited to be in readiness for a spring campaign; as we may expect a strong force of the enemy to march against Texas al that lime I deem it necessary for Texas to be ready to meat an army of the enemy eight or ten thousand [ ] strong in may next. Our army should be well organized and deciplined, to do which they should all Le in the field by the middle of march; for it will require at least two months for men to be sufficient trained to insure success. Subordination is also very necessary and cannot be
