. You will proceed immediately on receipt of this to Velasco and there you are detailed for the duty of acting assistant Quartcl Master General you will in consequence remain there and inform al troops landing at the mouth of the Brasos, if they arrive in armeci vessels to proceed on their voyage by sea to Copano & to occupy or position in the neighborhood of the port I would suggest Refugio Mission if in unarmed vessels to proceed to Matagorda & from there to Goliad. So far as practicable you will furnish them with supplies you can obtain. You will report your arrival al the mouth of the Brasos to Head Quarters at Washington & report from Lime lo Lime anything interesting & if necessary by express & you will remain there until further ordered.
